Watch: USMNT's Aron Johannsson scores bicycle kick for AZ Alkmaar

U.S. international Aron Johannsson scored a magnificent bicycle kick for AZ Alkmaar on Sunday in a league match vs. Excelsior

It's been quite a last couple matches for U.S. international Aron Johannsson.

After unleashing a 35-yard rocket last week against NAC Brenda, the AZ Alkmaar forward one-upped himself by scoring an incredible bicycle kick to open the scoring in the 5th minute on Sunday vs. Excelsior. The 24-year-old capitalized on a defensive miscue in the box, which saw the ball bounce over his marker's head and sit perfectly for the audacious attempt from six yards out.

Johannsson, who had a slow start to the campaign while recovering from ankle surgery, would add another tally in the 57th minute and has rounded into form of late, recording four goals and an assist in his last three matches. USMNT head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has to like what he sees, especially as the U.S. prepares for the Gold Cup this summer.

Alkmaar, which plays in the Dutch Eredivisie, would go on to win the match 4–1.
