United States international Geoff Cameron signed a new three-year deal with Stoke City on Sunday, the club announced.

Cameron, 29, has become a critical member of Stoke's first team under manager Mark Hughes after arriving in 2012 from MLS club Houston Dynamo. The defender/midfielder played a large role in Jurgen Klinsmann's U.S. side at last summer's World Cup.

Cameron's contract was set to run out next summer. The new deal keeps him at the Britannia Stadium until 2018.

Stoke's 6-1 win over Liverpool Sunday marked Cameron's 99th Premier League appearance as a member of the club.
