Lewandowski nets hat trick, Poland gets 4-0 victory over Georgia

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Robert Lewandowski's hat trick in the last four minutes boosted Poland to a 4-0 victory over Georgia and control of Group D in 2016 European Championship qualifying on Saturday.

Lewandowski scored in the 89th minute and twice more in stoppage time.

In Dublin, Scotland rallied to draw with Ireland 1-1.

Poland has 14 points from six matches and will remain atop the group regardless of the outcome of Germany's match against Gibraltar late Saturday. Germany has 10 points, and will rise above Scotland with an expected win. Scotland has 11, Ireland nine, Georgia three, and Gibraltar none.

Jon Walters scored for Ireland just before halftime, then Shaun Maloney's strike was deflected in by John O'Shea just after the break.
