Carli Lloyd sealed the USA's 2–0 victory over Colombia in the Women's World Cup Monday, converting after Megan Rapinoe drew the USA's second penalty on Las Cafeteras on the night.

Lloyd’s kick came 16 minutes after Abby Wambach missed a penalty kick against backup Colombian goalkeeper Stefany Castaño, who had to come after starter Catalina Perez was sent off for taking out Alex Morgan at the edge of the Colombia box.

Lloyd confidently dispatched her right-footed effort to add insurance to Morgan's 53rd-minute tally, and the U.S. will face China in the quarterfinals of the World Cup on Friday at Lansdowne Stadium in Ottawa.
