D.C. United goalie Bill Hamid out four to six weeks after surgeries
D.C. United keeper Bill Hamid will miss between four and six weeks after undergoing surgeries on his right hand and knee, the team announced.
The 2014 MLS Goalkeeper Of The Year and U.S. men's national team candidate had arthroscopic surgery on his knee as well as a "procedure to release the flexor tendon of the second MCP joint of his right hand," according to a release.
The duration of time missed could mean Hamid misses between five and seven MLS matches, according to the Washington Post.
“He’s had these two nagging injuries—we’ve talked about getting him some time to rest after we got through the [busy summer] stretch,” United coach Ben Olsen told the Post.
“We got through it, and now we’ll use this time to shut him down and make sure he is 100% for the rest of the season.”

It's unknown whether Hamid's injuries prevented USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann from naming Hamid to the national team roster for July's CONCACAF Gold Cup.
D.C. United has the most points of any team in MLS so far this season while also allowing just 18 goals over 21 games.
The 24 year old has an 8–4–4 record in 2015 and leads Major League Soccer in save percentage (.819). He has 59 saves on the season, the sixth-most of any keeper in the league.
