Watch: Guardado, Corona, Peralta score as Mexico earns Gold Cup title

Andrés Guardado opened the scoring in the 31st minute.

Mexico won the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup on Sunday night with a 3-1 victory over Jamaica in Philadelphia.

After a shaky start, Mexico broke through in the 31st minute when Andrés Guardado opened the scoring with a clever volley into the back of the net.

Mexico led just 1-0 at the half, but Miguel Herrera's side broke through with two more goals to effectively end Jamaica's hopes. Jesus Corona scored in the 47th minute, and Oribe Peralta scored in the 61st minute to put Mexico up 3-0.

Jamaica's Darren Mattocks pulled one back in the 80th minute, but it wasn't enough, as Mexico held on for a 3-1 win. Mexico advances to a one-game playoff against the United States to determine which team will advance to the 2017 Confederations Cup.
