Eintracht Frankfurt defender Timothy Chandler will have surgery on his right knee, the team announced Sunday.

Chandler will have surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee. The team did not announce when he will undergo the operation.

Though a timetable was also not announced, Chandler is expected to be out for several weeks.

Chandler, who was born in Germany, has made 26 appearances for the United States Men's National Team since 2011, scoring one goal. Chandler signed a three-year contract with Frankfurt last summer after spending four seasons with FC Nurnberg.
