Former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to be named to the same position with Liverpool, The Guardian reports

Liverpool's ownership has been in contact with Klopp's representatives over the last week and the former Mainz 05 player is expected to be in Liverpool to finalize the terms of the deal Thursday, according to the report.

The Reds' manager position became vacant on Oct. 4 after the club decided to part ways with Brendan Rodgers after three seasons. The move followed a 1–1 draw with Everton on Sunday.

Liverpool currently sits 10th in the Premier League table.

Klopp is expected to be offered a three-year contract, which is likely to pay significantly more than his $5.5 million salary with Dortmund, according to The Guardian.

Klopp had been the manager of Dortmund since he was hired by the Bundesliga club in 2008, before taking a sabbatical after the 2014–15 season. His first managerial job was with Mainz 05, which he coached from 2001-2008.
