In a charity soccer match to support UNICEF on Saturday in Manchester, English superstar David Beckham was subbed out for his oldest son Brooklyn in a touching moment.

As Beckham ran to the sidelines, a sold-out crowd of 75,381 at Old Trafford stood up to cheer while the 40-year-old shared a hug with his son before play resumed.

Many notable players participated in the charity match to benefit UNICEF, including U.S. soccer star Landon Donovan. French players ZinedineZidane and Patrick Vieira dropped out of the event after the terror attacks in Paris on Friday.

“Having Brooklyn out there was special,” Beckham said. “One of my lasting memories is winning the title and walking around with Brooklyn when he was 18 months. It was incredible. I’m very proud of what we achieved. It’s been a special day.”

Beckham has been an UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for 10 years and started his own fund to help the organization.
