On the day Lionel Messi returned to Barcelona's starting lineup, he also returned to the scoresheet.

Messi scored twice in Barcelona's 6-1 Champions League rout of Roma Tuesday. First, he chipped Wojciech Szczesny from close range to give his side a 2-0 lead in the 18th minute. Three minutes after Luis Suarez opened the scoring, Messi joined in the fun capping a brilliant combination play between himself, Suarez and Neymar.

The prolific line, which led Barcelona to the Champions League title last season, has showed no signs of needing time to re-acclimate, after getting back on the field together in Saturday's 4-0 Clasico domination of rival Real Madrid. Messi entered that match as a second-half substitute, marking his long-awaited return from a knee injury.

The trio was at it again just before the hour mark vs. Roma, with Messi eventually rebounding his own saved shot after another combination between Neymar, Suarez and himself to make it 5-0. Moments earlier, he had set up Gerard Pique for Barcelona's fourth. Messi now has 79 career Champions League goals (Only Cristiano Ronaldo, with 82, has more), and Barcelona looks as dangerous as ever.
