Carli Lloyd has been named U.S. Soccer’s 2015 female player of the year.

Lloyd, 33, scored 17 goals to lead the U.S. women’s national team in her 11th year as a member of the squad. The midfielder also assisted on four goals.

Most notable was Lloyd’s tremendous showing in the Women’s World Cup, in which she became the first player in tournament history to score in four straight knockout round games, won both the Golden Ball and Silver Boot awards, and pulled off a memorable hat trick in the final against Japan.

Lloyd’s strike from midfield in that match was among 10 nominees for FIFA Goal of the Year. She is also a finalist for FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year.

With her historic calendar year, Lloyd beat out teammates Lauren Holiday, Megan Rapinoe, Becky Sauerbrunn and Hope Solo for the award.
