MLS midfielder Marco Pappa may have been stabbed by Miss Washington USA in an unclear altercation last month, according to reports.

The details of the altercation remain clouded, but according to KING5 in Seattle, police showed up at a South Lake Union apartment where Pappa–then with the Seattle Sounders prior to being traded to the Colorado Rapids–and Miss Washington, Stormy Keffeler, were both present. Pappa was nursing a stab wound to the abdomen and underwent surgery. Both Pappa and Keffeler reportedly gave multiple accounts of the story to law enforcement.

That incident and a prior DUI in April could result in Keffeler losing the Miss Washington crown.

Pappa was also involved in a DUI last year, which resulted in him being enrolled in MLS's substance abuse program before returning to the field.

Pappa has played seven seasons in MLS between Chicago and Seattle and is slated for his first season in Colorado. The Guatemela international has 35 goals and 27 assists in 161 MLS regular-season games.
