FIFA has banned Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid from signing players in the next two transfer periods after breaking rules regarding signing players younger than 18, Rob Harris of the Associated Press reports

The ban will begin after the current transfer window, allowing both teams to sign players in January before they are barred from transfer acquisitions until the summer of 2017, Harris reports.

Real Madrid has also been fined $360,000, and Atletico has been fined $900,000.

The minors involved in Atletico’s breach of rules played between 2007 and 2014, and between 2005 and 2014 for Real Madrid.
