USMNT forward Jozy Altidore scored in the 20th minute against Iceland on Sunday, knotting the score at 1–1 after the U.S. fell behind early.

Altidore was on the receiving end of a perfect pass from his Toronto FC teammate Michael Bradley, easily beating Iceland’s goalkeeper from about the penalty spot. The goal is the 32nd in Altidore’s international career, putting him two goals behind Eric Wynalda for third in U.S. history.

The U.S. had gone behind on a deflected shot by former Columbus Crew midfielder Kristinn Steindorsson, as his chance hit off Michael Orozco and beat goalkeeper Luis Robles.

Jermaine Jones sparked the equalizing sequence for the U.S., finding Gyasi Zardes, who hit a one-touch pass to Bradley. The U.S. captain found Altidore in behind the Iceland center backs, and he did the rest:

The U.S. fell behind again early in the second half, with Aron Sigurdarson scoring on a curling effort from the left side after catching the U.S. out of position on a quickly taken restart to make it 2-1. The U.S. equalized again, though, with Orozco heading home from the doorstep off an assist from Steve Birnbaum, and Birnbaum scored a 90th-minute winner to spark the USA to a 3-2 victory.

The U.S. caps its annual winter camp on Friday night with a friendly against CONCACAF foe Canada at StubHub Center, the site of Sunday's match.
