Matt Miazga included on Chelsea's Champions League roster

Matt Miazga, who moved from the New York Red Bulls to Chelsea last week, was included on the Blues' Champions League roster

U.S. national team defender Matt Miazga, who just moved from the New York Red Bulls to Chelsea, was included on the Blues' Champions League roster, which the club submitted on Wednesday.

Miazga, 20, signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Chelsea after his transfer, and is one of 22 players on Guus Hiddink's team that will suit up to face Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16. Radamel Falcao, meanwhile, did not make the squad.

As previously reported by SI's Grant Wahl and then confirmed by Hiddink, it is Chelsea's plan to hold on to Miazga and evaluate him over the final four months of the season before determining whether he will remain with the club or be loaned out next season to receive playing time. The center back is immediately eligible to play for Chelsea and does not require a work permit through having a Polish passport.

Miazga will not be making his debut for the club Wednesday, when Chelsea takes on Watford, as he was not in Hiddink's 18-man squad for the game. His next opportunity will come Sunday, when Chelsea plays against Manchester United.
