Lionel Messi poked fun at rumors that he outbid Cristiano Ronaldo for a Ferrari with an Instagram post on Thursday.

In the post, featuring a picture of himself holding Lightning McQueen from the Cars series​, Messi wrote, “My new car,” along with two laughing emojis.

Last week, Messi was rumored to have outbid Ronaldo for a 1957 Ferrari 335S, which sold for $34.9 million. The car’s seller said Messi was the winning bidder, although the soccer star has remained quiet about the report.
