Dejan Lovren capped a thrilling Liverpool comeback with a stoppage-time winner to give his club a 4–3 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Thursday.
Liverpool was losing 3–1, and 4–2 on aggregate, in the second half Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal match before mounting a furious comeback. Dortmund's three away goals—compared to the one away goal Liverpool scored in its 1–1 draw in the first leg—meant that Liverpool would have to score three goals to advance.
The Reds somehow pulled it off, scoring three goals in the last 25 minutes to steal the game from Dortmund. Lovren scored off a James Milner cross, heading the ball into the back of the net from the corner of the penalty box.
