Watch: Bedoya leads Nantes fans in 'I believe that we will win!'

The U.S. midfielder led Nantes supporters following a loss in the club's home finale in Ligue 1.

As has become tradition since Alejandro Bedoya has been at Nantes, the U.S. midfielder led his French club's supporters in a rousing rendition of "I Believe That We Will Win" after the team's home finale at Stade de la Beaujoire on Saturday.

Despite a 2-1 loss to Caen–in which Bedoya scored his fifth goal in all competitions this season–the chant went ahead. Bedoya explained to SI.com a couple of years ago following another loss in the home finale that the chant, which became a regular occurrence after he joined the club, is more symbolic than anything else to conclude the season.

Bedoya's goal, which came from close range in the 78th minute, sliced Nantes's deficit in half. The club finishes its Ligue 1 campaign at reigning champion PSG on Satruday. Nantes currently sits in 12th place and can aim for a top-half finish in the Ligue 1 table with a win.

What comes next for Bedoya and Nantes remains to be seen, as he has had two close calls for potential moves to MLS and has expressed his desire to, at some point, join the league. SI's Grant Wahl reported that if Bedoya makes a move from Nantes this summer it will be to a club in Europe, while if he waits until the winter, it would be to MLS.
