West Ham's match against Manchester United, which marks its farewell to Upton Park, was delayed by 45 minutes after fans blocked and threw projectiles at Manchester United's team bus.

The bus was met by a mass of fans outside the Boleyn Ground, with bottles and other objects causing damage and preventing it from making its way to the stadium.

"The coach got smashed up, but we'll just have to go and prepare and get on with our job," Manchester United's Wayne Rooney said, according to The Telegraph. "It's not for me to say, I'm sure you'll see. I'm sure West Ham will be disappointed with their fans."

From the inside of the bus, Jesse Lingard shows what it looked like (warning: explicit language):

West Ham chairman David Sullivan reportedly shifted blame onto Manchester United for not arriving at the stadium earlier:

West Ham is moving to the Olympic Stadium in London next season.
