Barcelona secured another domestic double on Sunday, defeating Sevilla 2-0 after extra time in the Copa Del Rey final.

It wasn't easy for Lionel Messi and company, as the team dealt with ejections, injuries, and a resilient Sevilla side that took the game to Barcelona and provided the Catalans with a great number of nervy moments. This, despite the fact that Sevilla was on short rest after having won its third consecutive Europa League title jsut says earlier.

Sevilla started the match well and created chances against Barcelona, but the big moment in the half came when Javier Mascherano was issued a straight red card for a professional foul on Kevin Gameiro in the 36th minute:

The teams went in to halftime tied 0-0.

Sevilla had control for much of the second half, and was handed a bit of momentum when Barcelona star Luis Suarez went down with an injury. But that all changed when Ever Banega was issued a red card after taking down Neymar in stoppage time.

Jordi Alba finally broke the deadlock in extra time, collecting a ridiculous pass from Lionel Messi and sneaking the ball past goalkeeper Sergio Rico in the 97th minute. The goal was the first for Alba this season.

Sevilla was reduced to nine men after another red card, then Neymar made Barcelona's victory secure with a nice finish off another great pass from Messi:

The win gives Barcelona a record 28th Copa Del Rey title and its second in a row after defeating Athletic Bilbao 3–1 in the 2014–15 edition.
