Orlando City star Kaka has been called up to join Brazil for the Copa America Centenario, the Brazilian federation announced.

The news comes after Bayern Munich midfielder Douglas Costa was scratched due to a left thigh injury.

Kaka did not initially make the cut for Brazil’s 23-man roster, but was picked for the 40-man provisional roster by Brazil manager Dunga, leaving him eligible to be added to the squad in the event of an injury.

Brazil plays a friendly against Panama on Sunday and opens up Copa America play against Ecuador on June 4. Brazil will also play Haiti and Peru in Group B.

Kaka has scored 29 goals during his 91 Brazil caps, and he was part of Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning side. He has two goals in seven games with Orlando City this season.
