England’s newspapers had a field day after the country’s stunning loss to Iceland. 

The English lost Monday to the tiny Nordic country in the knockout round of the European Championship, leading manager Roy Hodgson to announce his resignation just minutes after the final whistle. 

England has not advanced past the quarterfinals at a European Championship since 1996, while Iceland had never before qualified for a major tournament.
