FC Dallas advanced to the U.S. Open Cup final Wednesday night, defeating the LA Galaxy 2-1 in extra time on a dramatic 121st-minute header from Victor Ulloa at StubHub Center.

After a scoreless draw in regulation, FC Dallas went behind on a penalty from Mike Magee. Goalkeeper Chris Seitz was ruled to have fouled Giovani Dos Santos in the box, and Magee calmly converted the ensuing penalty.

FCD didn't fold, though, and it got an equalizer through Matt Hedges. The center back headed home the clutch equalizer on a corner kick from Mauro Diaz in the 116th minute, seemingly putting the semifinal on course for penalty kicks.

That is, until Ulloa intervened. In stoppage time of extra time, the homegrown player delivered–on another corner from Diaz–sending FCD to the final in stunning fashion.

FC Dallas will host the final against the New England Revolution on a date to be decided late in September. The Revolution ease by the Chicago Fire 3-1 in their semifinal.
