Watch: Player sits in stands to applaud own hat trick, gets sent off

It’s exactly what it sounds like.

Scoring goals is beautiful, and scoring your first hat trick is pretty great.

Just ask Swedish defender Medi Dresevic, who will go down in legend after scoring thrice, then sprinting into the stands to take a seat and give himself a round of applause.

This was in a third-tier Swedish League game, but this guy had apparently only ever scored once before in his career, then got to do it three times in a 6–1 rout. The enthusiasm is understandable.

Never mind that he got booked and was sent off after an earlier yellow card. It has to be worth it. It may never happen again.

His team might miss him in its next game, though.
