Barcelona have reportedly attempted to minimise the speculation surrounding Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain by asking the star forward to release a message to the fans which assures them he will not be leaving this summer.

With rumours and speculation running rampant surrounding the star Brazilian, Barcelona have seemingly looked towards the subject of the reports to calm the waters surrounding his future.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked to a £196m move to PSG, with his head seemingly turned by the proposition of being the main man at the Ligue 1 side.

However, Sport English understand that releasing a message on one of his social media platforms - which he actively uses - would be the most effective medium to quash the rumours and appease those at the Nou Camp.

Despite being active online in recent days, no activity relating to Neymar's future at Barcelona or possible transfer to PSG have been made by the player.

With a contract running until 2021, Goal released quotes from the play-maker which revealed he was 'happy' at Barcelona. However, it seems as though they are significantly out-dated such is the rapid movement of the transfer window.

An email exchange with the player on Tuesday suggested Neymar was very comfortable at the club, but the questions he was posed were sent out to him last week, and a lot of things can happen in one week as we very well know.

He has since been headhunted by the French club and who knows it could be another attempt by Barcelona of dampening speculation surrounding their star man.
