Venezuela travel to Asunción on Tuesday to play Paraguay in a World Cup qualifying match.

Paraguay are desperately fighting to secure a spot in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Finals in Russia. They enter Tuesday with 24 points on the table, good for seventh place. The top four nations clinch a bid to Russia, while the fifth place team must play in a playoff to determine their fate. Since Paraguay currently sit just two points behind fourth place Colombia and one point behind fifth and sixth place Peru and Argentina, Tuesday's match is a must win if the Paraguayans wish to travel to Russia next year.

Venezuela, meanwhile, has not fared well in the group stages. Rafael Dudamel's side have won just one out of 17 games and are at the bottom of the table with nine points. Venezuela drew with Uruguay last week 0-0 and will look to play spoiler on Tuesday.

These two teams last faced off in 2015, with Paraguay winning 1-0.
