Chelsea's Willian has been subject to a serious bout of criticism after a string of performances which have left a lot to be desired, and the Brazilian has now hit out at his critics on social media.

The 29-year-old has yet to open his goalscoring account this season and he looks a shadow of his former self who scored 12 goals last season, and Willian appears to be frustrated with the backlash as he has liked a comment on Instagram which implored him to ignore the barrage of criticism.

The comment Willian liked on Instagram read: "Ignore the haters Willian. They don't respect all you've done for our club, I believe in you. and to all the people telling him to leave, you're not true Chelsea fans, a true Chelsea fan encourages their players til the very end."

Although Willian has been a popular figure at Stamford Bridge, his performances this season have led him to come under fire as his inability to maintain possession and pass accurately has seemingly compounded Chelsea's early season frustrations.

The 29-year-old has made 11 appearances for Chelsea so far this season, with his last full 90 minute game coming in September against Qarabag in the Champions League.

Willian has been linked heavily with Manchester United, but there have been no concrete suggestions that Antonio Conte wants to part with the winger who has the capabilities to regain his confidence and make a significant impact on the Blues campaign.
