More than five hours of ultra-dramatic slugging finally came to a close off the bat of Alex Bregman, and it's hard to imagine baseball ever being the same.

I can't remember ever seeing a game quite like this 13-12 affair that seemed destined for extra innings from the jump. 

Remember when the Dodgers led 4-0? It feels like a decade ago.

At a certain point, it came to feel that nothing short of a walk-off inside-the-park grand slam could make for an acceptable ending to a contest this white-hot with drama and verve.

But here we are, and baseball fans aren't complaining.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: this series is going eight.
