Currently playing as backup for Barcelona's first choice shot stopper Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Cillessen is according to reports keen on a move away from the Camp Nou having played only once so far this season.

And with the Netherlands international looking for more regular game time, Newcastle could be an ideal move for the 28-year-old, where he would likely become the Magpies' first choice keeper.

The Dutchman performed admirably throughout his time at Ajax, a five year stint that saw him win three Eredivisie titles and earn a coveted move to Catalonia in 2016.

However, since joining Barcelona, Cillessen has made on 17 appearances, pushing him towards the exit door as he seeks further game time elsewhere.
