Neymar Eyeing PSG Departure Amid Injury Recovery, per Report

Since joining French club Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, Brazilian star Neymar has helped continue the club’s dynastic run, winning four Ligue 1 titles in his first five seasons, albeit with zero Champions League titles and numerous disappointing UCL exits. Now, his time with PSG could be nearing a close.

Neymar is reportedly prepared to leave PSG despite still having four years remaining on his contract, according to ESPN’s Julien Laurens. That desire reflects a change of heart from Neymar in recent weeks as he recovers from an ankle injury that’s kept him off the pitch since February.

The report of Neymar having wandering eyes comes days after dozens of fans protested outside of the 31-year-old’s house demanding that he leave the club. Neymar reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League, and PSG reportedly is open to accommodating his wishes if the right move materializes. Neymar is due €40 million per year, and would likely command a sizable transfer fee.

Neymar reportedly does not wish to play in his home country Brazil, nor would he consider playing for any Spanish club other than Barcelona—though the team reportedly has no desire to try and make a move to attain their former player.
