Lionel Messi Scores Latest Jaw-Dropping Goal for Inter Miami in Leagues Cup Final

A dynamic debut season in the U.S. continued for Lionel Messi on Saturday as the legendary forward recorded his latest sensational goal to propel Inter Miami to an early lead in the Leagues Cup final.

Messi, who entered the match with nine goals in six matches for the MLS club, blew past Nashville SC defenders to deliver a jaw-dropping goal with another signature left-footed strike to put Inter Miami up 1–0.

The 36-year-old superstar immediately took a lap in celebration as his teammates swarmed him with the roaring crowd in a frenzy.

After transforming Miami’s attack upon his arrival and helping the club secure a spot in next year’s Concacaf Champions Cup, Messi now has his team one step closer to becoming the first MLS club to win the Leagues Cup.

In addition to securing a landmark trophy, a win against Nashville to secure Miami’s first-ever championship would also raise the stakes ahead of Messi’s MLS debut, which is set for Aug. 26 against New York Red Bulls.
