Matt Turner Nutmegged As Cheeky Gabriel Jesus Goal Helps Arsenal Win at Nottingham Forest

Arsenal won 2-1 at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night to climb to second place in the Premier League table.

The Gunners had lost on each of their previous three visits to Nottingham but goals from Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka secured a first win at the City Ground since 2017.

Taiwo Awoniyi scored a late consolation goal for Forest, who now sit just two points above the relegation zone.

Jesus fired Arsenal in front in the 65th minute when he collected the ball from an Oleksandr Zinchenko throw-in before squeezing a low shot through the legs of Matt Turner from a very tight angle.

Forest keeper Turner reacted to being nutmegged by collapsing to the ground like a WWE wrestler that had just been on the receiving end of a finishing move.

This was not Turner's first blunder of the season.

The USMNT stopper - who joined Forest from Arsenal for a transfer fee of £10 million last year - had also made high-profile errors in games against Brentford, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Arsenal's second goal of the night on Tuesday arrived on 72 minutes when Saka drilled a low shot past Turner following a tidy assist by Jesus.

Turner got the fingertips of his right hand to the ball but was unable to push it around his far post.

Awoniyi set up a nervy finale for the Gunners when he poked home from 10 yards after getting the better of William Saliba.

He almost scored again in added time but David Raya made a flying save to secure three precious points for Mikel Arteta's men.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Aston Villa lost 3-1 at home to Newcastle United, while Crystal Palace beat Sheffield United in a five-goal thriller in South London.

However, the result of the day undoubtably came at Kenilworth Road, where an Elijah Adebayo hat-trick helped Luton Town thrash Brighton 4-0.

Everton ended the night in the relegation zone after drawing 0-0 at Fulham.
