Nailed it: Andy Samberg as tennis greats

You can't just throw on some uncomfortably snug short-shorts, glue on some fake stubble and wear an unkempt disco wig to truly embody the spirit of the great tennis legends. You must become them. You must search for their essence, their "wounded eyes," if you will. Anyone who has been to an adult Halloween party knows this. "Oh, you put on a white headband and you're supposed to be John McEnroe?" Please, buddy. The clothes didn't make the men.

Capture the fire, the anger, the hurt and, yes, the chest hair, and then maybe, just maybe, you'll nail it. Of course, if you've "got that McEnroe Butt," as Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg claims to have, that's just a bonus.

Samberg poses as McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi for The New York Times Magazine. Watch the hilarious behind-the-scenes video below and check out the finished product here. Samberg and longtime Sports Illustrated photographer Walter Iooss Jr. nailed it.
