Memory Lane is a recurring feature in which we dig through SI.com's photo archives for classic pictures.

Me: Hey, guys, I'm wondering if there's a picture out there that involves a comically large but highly menacing white Bengal tiger leaping over Anna Kournikova at a theme park in Australia.

SI.com Editors: Well, actually ...

Me: No, no, no, let me finish this thought, I think I'm on a roll. What if, in addition to the comically large but highly menacing white Bengal tiger, Kournikova is dressed in all dark colors, with some sort of superhero logo emblazoned across her chest as though she's a superhero-ninja-type person? I use "person" as a generic stand-in. I mean, I don't know if she's human or alien in this scenario. Haven't had the time to think that part through.

SI.com Editors: Riiiight. Well, so yeah, we ...

Me: Hold up! Another thought! What if ... again, I'm just throwing out ideas here to see if anything sticks. What if, in addition to being dressed in all black and kneeling under a comically large but highly menacing white Bengal tiger, Kournikova just has this perfectly serene smile, as though she has absolutely no fear at all that a 20-ton (guesstimate?) tiger is momentarily floating over her head and may be thinking of the 40 ways he can dismember her the second his comically large but highly menacing paws touch the ground? Wouldn't that look of peace and confidence just cement her as one the greatest superheroes of all time? That would be so cool.

SI.com Editors: Oh, you're done? OK. Yeah, we emailed that picture to you 30 minutes ago.

Me: Oh. Cool. [Checks email, opens attachment, looks at picture] Seems a bit anticlimactic, honestly.

Aaaaaand scene.
