• The whole David Goffin-Roger Federer idol-worship/pat on the head business of the weekend was equal parts adorable and awkward. After all, do we really want to be setting a precedent for every kid who gets to play his idol being forced to do an interview for the crowd after losing? Probably not. But in the end it sounded like everyone had warm and fuzzies so all's well that ends well. Writes the New York Times' Greg Bishop:

When the match with Goffin finished, Federer met him at the net. Both smiled. Federer wrapped an arm around the young man’s back while television cameras captured Federer’s wife, Mirka, sighing in relief in the stands. “Good job, son” is what the embrace looked like. Then the two hugged. It was touching, the wise veteran and his biggest fan, a true tennis Kodak moment.
