Rory McIlroy says things are just fine with girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki.

"Everything on that front is great," the world's No. 1 golfer said at a news conference Wednesday in Doral, Fla., where he's playing this week in the WGC-Cadillac Championship. "And I look forward to seeing her next week when she gets to Miami" for the Sony Ericsson Open, which begins March 20.

McIlroy was responding to a question about whether his meltdown at last week's Honda Classic -- where he withdrew eight holes into his second round, citing a toothache and not being "in a good place mentally" -- was related to any off-the-course problems. The UK's Independentspeculated earlier this week that McIlroy and Wozniacki, who was upset in her first match at the Malaysian Open last week, were on the rocks.

"I've read what's been written," McIlroy said. "Just because I have a bad day on the golf course and Caroline loses a match in Malaysia, it doesn’t mean that we’re breaking up. It's sport."
