The old man still has some tricks up his sleeve.

Tommy Haas' second-round victory over Ernests Gulbis at the BMW Open in Munich included this lunging forehand volley that had so much spin that it came back over the net to Haas' side before Gulbis could return it.

Haas, 35, is into the Munich semifinals after beating Florian Mayer 6-4, 6-1 on Friday. The third-seeded and 14th-ranked Haas will play surprise semifinalist Ivan Dodig, who has already beaten two-time champion Nikolay Davydenko, No. 2 seed Marin Cilic and No. 5 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov this week. Dodig is ranked No. 56.
