Alize Cornet has never made it past the third round of the French Open.

Third-seeded Alize Cornet will take on last year's runner-up Lucie Hradecka in Saturday's final of the Strasbourg International.

France's Cornet edged Canadian Eugenie Bouchard 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-3, while Hradecka of the Czech Republic rallied to beat Italian qualifier Flavia Pennetta 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 in Friday's other semifinal.

A former top 10 player, Pennetta slipped to 158th in the rankings after her 2012 season was marred by back and wrist injuries.

The Italian won six straight games in the opening set. But Hradecka fought back to lead 3-0 in the second and her superior fitness made the difference in the final set.

Earlier Friday, Pennetta dismissed Misaki Doi of Japan 7-5, 6-3 while Hradecka beat Johanna Larsson of Sweden 7-5, 6-3. Those two quarterfinals were initially scheduled for Thursday, but were postponed to Friday because of rain.
