Photos: French Open Day 2
The sun came out on Day 2 and it began with an almost-upset of Rafael Nadal as he faced a red-lining Daniel Brands, and it ended with an actual upset when Gael Monfils upended fifth-seeded Tomas Berdych. Oh, yeah, and there was some pretty nifty stuff in between, too.
Maria Sharapova: The defending champion had to make her debut on Court Suzanne Lenglen after the Monfils-Berdych match went so long that organizers were forced to move her match off Court Philippe Chatrier. She cruised past Hsieh Su-Wei 6-2, 6-1.

Rafael Nadal: So how many times were the words "Soderling" and "Rosol" brought up during the first two sets of Nadal's first Slam match since that infamous loss at Wimbledon last year? Probably a lot. Brands looked well on his way to taking a two sets to love lead until Nadal took the second-set tiebreaker and ran away with the match 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4, 6-3.

Agnieszka Radwanska: We're just one round away from a possible Radwanska vs. Radwanska matchup in the third round. With Aga going blonde, how will we tell her apart from Urszula?
*****
Julien Benneteau: Benneteau and Sergiy Stakhovsky: co-presidents of the "Maybe it's time to bring Hawk-Eye to clay courts" club.
*****
Daniel Brands: This is Germany's Daniel Brands. He scared the crap out of many Nadal fans on Monday.
*****
Angelique Kerber: The moustache disguise won't work, Angie. We're keeping our eye on you.
*****
Nick Kyrgios: Big win for the 18-year-old Aussie, beating Radek Stepanek 7-6 (4), 7-6 (8), 7-6 (11) in his Grand Slam main-draw debut.
*****
Francesca Schiavone: The 2010 French Open champion served a bagel and then ate a ball on her way to beating Melinda Czink 6-0, 7-6 (1).
*****
Ernests Gulbis: A drama-free first-round win means he'll get a shot at Monfils in the next round.

Daniel Gimeno-Traver: Sorry, Señor Gimeno-Traver. Had to.
