Raonic upset in quarterfinals of Portugal Open

OEIRAS, Portugal (AP) -- Top-seeded Tomas Berdych fought back to beat Leonardo Mayer 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 and reach the semifinals of the Portugal Open on Friday, while second-seeded Milos Raonic lost to Carlos Berlocq 7-5, 6-4.

Berdych broke Mayer six times in the match to overcome losing his own serve five times to the Argentine qualifier.

The Czech player will next face Victor Hanescu at the clay-court event after the Romanian eased by Gastao Elias of Portugal 6-1, 7-5.

Berlocq's win over Raonic was his first victory over a player ranked in the top 10.

Berlocq will play Daniel Gimeno-Traver in Saturday's other semifinal after the Spaniard eliminated countryman Marcel Granollers 6-1, 6-2.
