Roger Federer will play the French Open after the birth of his second set of twins, his agent confirmed to the ATP Tour's website. Tony Godsick also said that Federer "will make a decision at the last minute" about whether to play next week's Italian Open, which the 32-year-old Swiss has never won.

Federer's wife, Mirka, gave birth to twin boys Leo and Lenny on Tuesday, and the 17-time Grand Slam champion withdrew from the Madrid Open to be with her. The Federers also have 4-year-old twin girls Charlene and Myla.

Federer has played a record 57 consecutive Grand Slam tournaments, a streak that began at the 2000 Australian Open. He won the French Open in 2009.
