US teen Tiafoe, seeded 1st, out of French juniors

PARIS (AP) American teen Francis Tiafoe, the top-seeded boy in the French Open junior tournament, lost in the second round Monday.

The 16-year-old from College Park, Maryland, was beaten 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 by Germany's Jan Choinski.

Tiafoe says he was ''obviously feeling pressure'' as the No. 1 seed and he ''definitely wasn't expecting this tournament to end like this.''

But he takes solace from knowing that 13-time major champion Rafael Nadal lost in the first and second round at Wimbledon the past two years.

Says Tiafoe: ''Everyone has bad losses.''

He'll now resume his online high school classes - he's a sophomore - and start getting ready for the Wimbledon junior tournament.
