LONDON (AP) Serena Williams was able to laugh off a tumble onto the lap of a front-row spectator at Wimbledon, and she and her sister Venus went on to earn their first doubles victory of the year.

The siblings came back to beat Oksana Kalashnikova and Olga Savchuk 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 in a first-round match lasting nearly two hours Wednesday.

At 3-all in the final set, Serena slipped on the grass and ended up falling over the short barrier near the stands at Court 3, but did not appear hurt. She chuckled about it - as did her mother and agent.

The Williams sisters had lost the only other doubles match they played together in 2014.

This was their first appearance as a team at Wimbledon since winning the 2012 championship.
