Serena Williams and Jack Sock to represent U.S. at Hopman Cup

Serena Williams will begin her 2015 season in Perth, Australia, teaming up with Jack Sock to represent the United States at the Hopman Cup, which begins on January 4th. The international mixed team event features 16 players from eight nations competing in a team format consisting of women's singles, men's singles and mixed doubles. Serena has won the event twice, in 2003 with James Blake and 2008 with Mardy Fish. This is Sock's first time playing the event.

In all there are nine top 20 players confirmed for the event, with three women in the top ten. Here are the rest of the teams:

  • France: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Alize Cornet (defending champions)
  • Great Britain: Andy Murray and Heather Watson
  • Poland: Jerzy Janowicz and Agnieszka Radwanska
  • Canada: Vasek Pospisil and Eugenie Bouchard
  • Italy: Fabio Fognini and Flavia Pennetta
  • Australia: Nick Kyrgios and Casey Dellacqua
  • Czech Republic: Radek Stepanek and Lucie Safarova
