KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) Former champion Hsieh Su-Wei advanced to the semifinals of the Malaysian Open by beating Elizaveta Kulichkova 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-0 Friday.

Hsieh, who won the event in 2012 but had to go through qualifying this year, will next face top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki. The former top-ranked Dane defeated Carina Witthoeft of Germany 6-3, 6-1.

Also, Jarmila Gajdosova beat Kurumi Nara 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 and Alexandra Dulgheru defeated eighth-seeded Julia Goerges 7-6 (5), 7-5.
