Timea Bacsinszky reaches Monterrey Open semifinals

MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) Fourth-seeded Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland advanced to the Monterrey Open semifinals Friday, beating Urszula Radwanska of Poland 6-4, 6-2 in the hard-court event at Club Sonoma.

Bacsinszky won the Mexico Open last week in Acapulco for her second WTA Tour title. She will face second-seeded Sara Errani of Italy, a 7-5, 6-4 winner over fifth-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia.

In the other quarterfinals, top-seeded defending champion Ana Ivanovic of Serbia faced Kristina Mladenovic of France, and third-seeded Caroline Garcia of France, the Acapulco runner-up, played eighth-seeded Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia.
