WASHINGTON (AP)—Eugenie Bouchard has pulled out of next week's Citi Open hard-court tennis tournament, citing an abdominal injury.

The tournament announced the Canadian's withdrawal Friday, quoting her as saying she is “not ready to compete.”

Bouchard was the runner-up at Wimbledon in 2014 and is a former top-10 player who is now ranked 26th.

She has not competed since losing in the first round this year at Wimbledon in June, her 12th defeat in her past 14 matches. Bouchard said at the time she was hampered by a torn abdominal muscle.

Bouchard is 4-3 in Grand Slam matches in 2015, after going 19-4 at major tournaments last season.

The Citi Open begins Monday.
