A young Serena Williams stars in a new Gatorade ad that flashes back to a television interview where the future star is asked, “If you were a tennis player, who would you want to be like?”

Williams smiles as career highlights begin to roll from her humble start on the tennis courts of Compton, Calif. to her major titles leading up to the 2015 U.S. Open

The commercial ends with Williams saying, “Well, I'd like other people to be like me.”

Last month, Forbes ranked Williams as the second highest paid female athlete behind Maria Sharapova. It is estimated that Williams earns about $12 million annually from exhibitions and sponsors Nike, Wilson, Gatorade and OPI. She has earned $72.7 million in winnings since turning professional.

PRICE: Serena Williams isn't worried about history, she's just here to play

A victory at the 2015 U.S. Open would complete Williams' first Grand Slam of victories at the four major tournaments of the year and the first in the sport since 1988.
