In this week's episode of the SI Tennis Beyond the Baseline Podcast, Sports Illustrated executive editor and host Jon Wertheim talks with former Sports Illustrated tennis contributor and current WTA Insider, Courtney Nguyen.

Nguyen reports from Zhuhai, China, where the inaugural WTA Elite Trophy is into the business end of the tournament. Nguyen and Wertheim tackle several issues and subjects currently affecting the WTA, including new CEO Steve Simon, the recent ranking movers—including Garbine Muguruza's rise to No. 3 in the world—and Serena Williams decision to shut down her season following her loss at the U.S. Open. After a surprising win from Agnieszka Radwanska at the WTA Finals in Singapore last week, Nguyen gives her thoughts on what the title will mean for the Pole's career in 2016. The pair also talks about the pros and cons of the WTA's strategy in Asia, the abundance of injuries on tour during the Asian swing, the 2015 season's top disappointments, No. 1 doubles team Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza and more.
