Djokovic hopes to play in Davis Cup against Kazakhstan

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) Novak Djokovic says he is recovering from an eye infection and hopes to be ready to play for Serbia against Kazakhstan this weekend in the Davis Cup.

The top-ranked Djokovic pulled out of the quarterfinals at the Dubai Championships last week with an inflammatory infection in both eyes.

He says ''all is going well with my recovery and I'm optimistic about playing'' in the first round of the Davis Cup in Belgrade.

He says he was initially skeptical about being able to play, ''but I still have two days left to adapt to the light and other indoor conditions and hopefully I will be fine.''

Djokovic led Serbia to its only Davis Cup title in 2010.
